Kid Made // Peg People
This projection happened without my involvement. It just…happened! I turned around, and at that place were little peg people being made. My daughter, age fourteen, was my helper at fine art camp. We had just finished making circus tents (that post is coming and SO cool) and I estimate 1 of the kids wanted a little clown to play with in her tent. My girl institute some pegs and used textile scraps that I had cut up for another project. Aren't these then cute? I forgot to photograph the kickoff batch of clowns which were hilarious with giant pom-pons on their heads. But I caught the next group of peg people, which were the audition. I beloved on-the-fly creating!

Supplies:
~ Wooden peg people
~ Fabric scraps cut into nigh 1″ x 5″ strips
~ Pom-poms
~ Piping cleaners (I dearest these neon ones)
~ Buttons (optional)
~ Elmer's glue
~ Black fine tip Sharpie or marking for face up
Process:
The whole thing takes no time at all. The hardest part is waiting for the glue to dry! Simply squeeze a bit of gum onto the fabric scrap, then roll around the wooden peg. We actually used a bit of colored tape at the end of the strip to secure it and as well for a bit of color. Next we used pipe cleaners (cut into $.25) for scarves, and buttons and pom-poms for hats. Some kids cut some yarn for hair. Terminal of all, they drew on their faces.
Kids are so darn clever. I'm not certain I would have thought of this, at least non the pom-pom hats. Make sure you let everything dry, probably overnight. Then it's time to play!
