I used this recipe for my kickoff roast and have used it religiously since. My merely advice would be to watch your cooking time. My roasts have ever been done between v-vi hours (on low) and they come out very tender. Overall, a very piece of cake and tasteful recipe.

I don't know what some of these people are talking virtually - this was a great roast! You lot may want to add together some more spices, but that'due south not rocket science. I added a litte chip of garlic, a sprinkle of garlic salt, ground pepper and extra onion flakes. My beau and I loved information technology - it was a nice dark-brown color, and the aroma filled the house when I came home. I will be using this recipe over and over.

This is good made as directed, but I felt it needed a little more flavor / complication. I use a larger roast (v lbs) rubbed with common salt, pepper, garlic, dredged in flour (to thicken the gravy later on) and seared in olive oil. For the liquid... beefiness goop, and I add together a few large splashes of red wine (virtually one-half a loving cup). Also put in onion, fresh minced garlic, a couple of rosemary sprigs and a tsp of coriander seeds. Cooked carrots with the roast, simply potatoes separately (roasted potatoes, every bit I don't like everything to sense of taste the same or to exist as well mushy.) YUMMO!

This has to be the easiest mode to make pot roast. I will brown my meat before placing in the crock pot and the deglaze the pan with the beef broth. Later on I take all the meat and vegetables out I will thicken the gravy with a little corn starch and h2o. Information technology is every bit as expert as a roast cooked in the oven.

Wow harsh review, I remember there may take been something wrong with your cooker or something because I cant imagine the veggies beingness raw later on hours and hours of boring cooking, but hope you detect the recipe your looking for! Equally far as my feel with the recipe, I tweaked it a little for my ain taste. I used broth instead of buillion and water, and I used a lot of information technology considering I dearest the soupy gravy. I added the potatoes in half way through cooking and so they wouldnt be mush, they were perfect! Added probably more veggies than recommended and some extra seasoning (garlic, tonys). Just overall I just loved it! thanks for the recipe!

This was my first pot roast e'er and I was pretty humble... simply it turned out great! I prepared it according to the directions with the following modifications: I sliced 3 carrots instead of using baby carrots, replaced the onion with a packet of dry onion soup mix, and used 3/4 cup of water instead of 1/2 cup. I cooked it on low for a picayune over viii hours. The meat was so tender and and then full of flavor. Plus, information technology passed the ultimate examination: my husband loved information technology and even had seconds! Side by side time I'm going to add a can of cream of mushroom soup to make a thicker gravy. Groovy recipe!

Equally newlyweds and new to cooking this was THE EASIEST and the all-time recipe......i think tonite was the kickoff fourth dimension we ate a real meal before 7PM and done by 8!!! Using the Advice from the previous reviews i added the xtra ane/four loving cup of h2o, bay leaf, and also browned it earlier putting in the crock......Information technology turned out very nicely and my inlaws thought it was succulent!!! I fabricated gravy from the crock pot juices past adding flour, salt, pepper and some onion powder all to taste.........YUM!!!!

This was an incredible recipe. It pulled apart, the vegetables were non mushy and the gravy was and then practiced. My beau ate the infant carrots (he hates carrots) and even wanted to take it to work the next mean solar day! Hither is what I did the nighttime before...I cut the potatoes, onions and used infant carrots. I heavily seasoned them with garlic common salt, seasoning salt, pepper and Lipton onion soup mix and put information technology at the bottom of my crock pot. (I have a removable dish.) I seasoned the outside of the roast with garlic table salt, seasoning salt and pepper until information technology was completely covered with seasoning and browned the outside with some butter. I dissolved the three beef boullion cubes with ane loving cup of humid h2o and added it to the peak of the veggies and then I put the roast on peak of that and covered information technology with the top. I stuck the whole thing in the frig to marinate over dark. The next morning I just took it out of the frig, plop the dish in and plow on the crock pot for 8 hours on low. FANTASTIC..my bestfriend and my boyfriend were raving about information technology! I'm making information technology for Thanksgiving in addition to the turkey. :)

From someone (me) who's recipes normally turn out terrible, this was TRULY the easiest, best tasting roast I have e'er made!! I followed the suggestions of others, and flavored it with additional spices to fit our tastes and added some boosted water, and information technology was merely wonderful!!
08/twenty/2002
If you lot're looking for fast and easy this is the recipe for you! I recommend adding more spices if y'all want more flavor, overall good recipe.
02/09/2011
This was very easy, and was exactly what I was looking for... I over cooked mine so it was a trivial dry out and put too much beef bullion in so it was a fleck salty, only if I wasn't contending with that it would definitely be 4 stars! Adding to my recipe box now...
01/xv/2010
This is a classic Crock Pot - Pot Roast recipe. If y'all read the instructions with a Crock Pot, it always says to put the vegetables on the bottom - they have the longest to cook. I accept NEVER browned my roast before cooking. I would venture to guess that if your roast did not turn out with this recipe - it had more to do with the grade of meat you used than the recipe. One other hint - e'er use a recipe as a base - then add the seasonings that you and your family unit savour.
01/02/2011
Suprisingly very good. I added ii c water, 1/4 c carmine cooking wine, 1 T onion powder, 1 T minced garlic, 1/4 tsp garlic pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic and herb grill mate. Plus, I used 6 potatoes and about 2 c carrots.
12/07/2002
Yummy! I cut my roast in half just in case it wasn't a good recipe and I was and so sad, because I wished I had cooked the whole affair! My son loved information technology and had seconds. I added more h2o than chosen for and added seasonings that I enjoy. I too (at the end) added some cornstarch to thicken the juice into gravy. It was very delicious.
12/28/2010
I decided to make a pot roast for Christmas dinner, so I went searching for wearisome cooker recipes. Almost everything I came across chosen for dry onion soup mix which I did non have. And then I found this recipe and decided to requite information technology a effort. Information technology came out perfect!! I didn't have whatsoever celery and used regular carrots instead of baby, but everything else was the same. I wouldn't change a matter about this recipe. I cooked my roast on high for 5 hours and information technology came out super tender and the taste was spectacular. I will only be making my roast this style from now on.
10/16/2007
I absolutely LOVED this recipe! I used Beef Eye of Round Roast and left the celery whole (that way I could remove information technology earlier serving since some of my guests don't like the texture). The odour filled our kitchen and was pleasing to everyone! Information technology will definitely be used once more and again!!
x/24/2008
a great, easy style to make pot roast. This is how I brand my roasts every time. If you tin, don't put the potatoes in until halfway through the cooking time. If you leave them in the entire fourth dimension, they'll plough to mush.
eleven/10/2007
Gets my highest vote for ease and yum factor. I love garlic & added quite a flake. I cooked this for approx 10 hours on low. Put information technology in the fridge overnight. I call up things cooked in the crock-pot taste meliorate warmed upwardly the next day. It was delish. Thank you!
11/thirty/2006
This is how my mom used to exercise it and I do love this recipe. I take tweaked it over the years, I add a bundle of Lipton Onion soup mix, 2 cups of cherry wine and three cloves of garlic.
02/06/2011
This was by far the all-time pot roast I've ever made, and information technology was quite easy to do. Much better than anything my mother ever made. I made ane modify, though, and I HIGHLY recommend it. My wife doesn't similar celery, so in lieu of that, I used a large stalk & root of fennel. The results were spectacular. The texture remains somewhat close to celery, merely it infuses the whole dish with a lite anise flavor. Great dish, easy to make... don't forget the fennel.
eleven/12/2007
Swell recipe!! My married man loved so did I. I used 2 cubes, 1 packaged dry out onion soup, potatoes, carrots and onions. I put about one-1/12 cups of water. The meat was melting and it felt I was cutting butter. I wasn't even able to become it out of the crockpot to cut because it was falling apart. Perfect. Give thanks you so much!!
01/13/2008
i followed directions down to the t, only it turned out then dry i couldnt fifty-fifty consume a little test slice. i dont know where i went wrong
01/05/2011
Nosotros did not like this roast at all. I put in all my ingredients equally the recipe says then put in the 1/2 cup of h2o. I knew as soon as I poured it in that it wasn't going to exist plenty liquid merely I permit it go anyways, trusting anybody elses reviews. I was so disappointed when I got home and found my roast still sitting on superlative of the potatoes, not liquid around information technology. I ended up adding iii cups of h2o and three more than bullion cubes, only for some "juice". I will not exist making this again. :(
01/23/2008
I love this pot roast! My married man thinks its great too
08/01/2008
I did this concluding night, july 31st 2008. Information technology was the easiest and best I've had. I just had surgery three days agone. I needed something that wouldn't accept alot of my time.I am however recouping. WOW!!!! Information technology was piece of cake for me to do, it was aroma i enjoyed all day long, and the family unit loved it! what better fashion to still melt(cuz i wanted to) and not be over worked as I heal! The only difference was I too added beefiness broth and garlic spices instead of the h2o. Otherwise YUM YUM YUM!!!! Cheers
12/21/2010
Very good. I put in potatoes, carrots and celery and it turned out very well. I did have to cook mine most six hours on high. Depends on your crock pot
01/eleven/2011
Beginning pot roast that I've tasted in years that was this delicious! I took the advice about the wine and the goop rather than burgoo. All loved it:)
07/15/2011
I use beef broth and fresh green beans instead of celery. Even with different cuts of roast, information technology always turns out hearty and satisfying, whether we consume it with gravy or in a pot pie. Very easy, nutritious repast. I like to add together salt, pepper, and garlic powder to my roast and some worcestshire sauce to the broth/h2o.
11/02/2010
I added 1/2 loving cup cerise wine and beef broth instead of the water. Also added a bay foliage and browned the roast before I put information technology in the crock pot. Added peas last hr of cooking because we love peas! Enjoy.
09/07/2002
Tasteless. Brothy. In that location must be pot roast improve than this.
02/20/2007
Was a good recipe. Merely I added the 3 cloves of garlic, used the Lipton Onion Soup mix instead of the bullion. As well added the water & a cup or 2 of red wine. Added mushrooms, celery, & carrots in the final couple of hours. Cooked ane hour on high & about 5.5 on low.
01/10/2016
This is basically the recipe I've used for years and you can't trounce information technology. For those of you thinking there should be more flavor endeavor adding 1/2 to 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix. I usually use beefiness broth instead of bouillon cubes. The juices make an excellent gravy. What really bothers me on these roast beef recipes is it is rarely mentioned which cutting of beef is used. I stick with a chuck roast as I can depend on information technology being autumn autonomously tender and having a rich flavor. I've never had much luck with rump roasts (not certain what they call them today) and don't know how that would work in a recipe like this even though it'south in dull cooker.
10/17/2009
I merely read all the reviews for this recipe. The people who gave information technology a low rating must not know how to tweak a recipe. For the potatoes I used small red ones cutting in half. I don't use bullion cubes, I apply "Herb Ox" Instant bullion powder - i tsp per cup of water. Earlier I dark-brown the meat I dredge it in flour mixed with rosemary, body of water table salt, pepper and granulated garlic - that slowly thickens as information technology cooks to make the gravy. Again the amounts of the spices depends on your taste buds. Lastly, I cook it 1 hour on high and 6 - eight hours on low testing the veggies after half dozen hours. For an added boot put a 12 oz bottle of "Killian's Irish gaelic Carmine" beer in after four hours on low. The beer has plenty of time to loose the alcohol that manner just you still accept the season of the Killian'due south. This recipe is a great one it all comes down to personal preference and taste buds.
03/01/2009
This was really good. I put the veggies on summit of the meat considering I like the meat to be falling autonomously tender. I made information technology both ways (veggies on top and bottom of meat) and I prefer veggies on top.
01/20/2011
My pot roast turned out drier than expected. I used the 3/4 c. of water that was suggested in the reviews, but it was still dry out. I call back part of the problem is that I set the meat on top of the veg like it said to do, and that prevented the meat from beingness immersed in the liquid. Adjacent time I will set the meat in the pot and put the veg around it, and I too won't put the potatoes in until a few hours into cooking b/c they were totally obliterated. I added a small corporeality of dry onion soup mix as suggested as well. The sense of taste was great, it was just likewise dry.
03/24/2005
I used this recipe for my first pot-roast always, and my husband and friends loved information technology so much I accept to cook it at charter once a week now!
01/26/2011
Easy and Amazing! I didn't add the potatoes (fabricated mashed potatoes instead), added 2 bay leaves, a sprinkle of garlic powder, and upped the water to 1 cup. Once finished cooking, I used the cooking liquid to make gravy. Adding this to the weekly rotation!
eleven/10/2002
This is an easy, standard roast beefiness recipe. You should spice it upwards still y'all want. One note for me, though, I cook this on depression for 12 hours and practice not demand to add together additional liquid and it turns out tender and perfect.
05/27/2010
I did everything as instructed.. I am sorry but this is not practiced at all. I gave information technology ane star because the meat and vegetables were tender but the boullion taste was overwhelming and there is no existent substanance to the gravy.. just watery, fat.
07/xiii/2008
This was good for my kickoff roast. Information technology concluded upward very tender and pulled apart hands. I volition add the veggies subsequently adjacent time as they ended up being mush and add together some more spices as well. This recipe is first-class to try over again and again until y'all have it tweaked to your liking! I am giving this recipe a solid 4 stars for coming out moist and tender but non 5 stars equally the veggies came out way overcooked and it was a little on the bland side spice wise. A slap-up basic roast recipe!
09/03/2010
This really is the easiest thing I've ever made and ane of the all-time. I used low sodium beef broth instead of bouillon, added some minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce for season and it was wonderful.
10/27/2006
This was a great dinner to come home to this evening, it's cold and rainy out. The meat came out very tender and very flavorful. I've been using the McCormick seasoning for pot roasts, and those are pretty skillful but wanted to attempt something dissimilar and didn't want to worry virtually preservitives or additives in seasonings. Thank you for the not bad recipe!
03/04/2005
The flavor was skillful but my roast came out very dry. I think the roast should be browned outset, putting it in the crock pot raw fabricated the veggies on the lesser wait gray and well-nigh unappetizing. Then having the beef cubes on top made dark spots on the roast. It tasted better than information technology looked. I think I will keep looking for a crock pot roast recipe.
02/12/2008
Very Adept! I used less onion, added garlic powder and used 1 cup of water instead of 1/2cup. This was my first pot roast so I was really nervous...but it turned out smashing. My husband and I loved it!
11/14/2011
I am not certain what happened, but I followed it to the T and it was bland and dry. This is the start highly rated recipe from this site that did not live upwards to the reviews. I have a new crock pot, then that wasn't the upshot. Won't make once more.
12/05/2000
I browned the roast outset and added near i/4 loving cup more water in the crockpot. The roast was tender and juicy. It tasted fifty-fifty amend the next day.
06/21/2000
Melt this roast on high for at least half dozen hours, cooking it on low dries the meat out quite a bit. We didn't observe it bland at all. I would have to attempt the proposition of browning it first for a more asthetic entreatment.
01/23/2004
The roast was a petty dry. I put the meat on the lesser and information technology was meliorate.
04/19/2010
Delicious!
04/04/2008
This recipe turned out not bad! I fabricated a few pocket-size adjustments to it such as; i used beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and dry out onion soup mix. This was my kickoff time making pot roast e'er & it worked out well!!
11/06/2010
I made my first pot roast yesterday and decided to add a heaping TBSP of horseradish mustard AND some dill weed. OMG! It turned out then proficient! I seared the meat, and so put it aside. I then started the goop and vegies on the stove in a dutch oven and every bit soon as information technology was simmering, I put the roast in and shoved it to the lesser. Cooked in the oven for 2 hours at 350, then i hour at 250...YUM!!!
xi/11/2001
This pot roast but wasn't that great. The roast was washed far earlier than expected and before the vegetables were ready. The laying of bullion cubes on the roast left areas with heavy seasoning and some with trivial. The roast itself was very dry. If I were to use this recipe again, I would commencement the vegetables earlier, and rub a calorie-free coating of beef bullion all over the roast and and then add an hour after the vegetables were started.
01/11/2004
Very basic pot roast recipe. Having read the other reviews that said "bland," first I rubbed the meat with salt, pepper, and thyme. I too added garlic, carbohydrate, worcestershire sauce along with veggies and seasonings. Finally I thickened the gravy with corn starch. Using the skilful quality of meat, this recipe got good reviews from my family.
09/20/2003
I accept normally ruined roast beef, thus take non tried very many roast recipes. This was very piece of cake and was really tender and tasty. My husband actually liked this. I had some left over onion soup mix already mixed with water in the fridge so used that and used only two boullion cubes. I strained the dried onions from the soup mix and used an onion equally per the recipe. I also sprinkled a trivial majoram over the meat. I used more water as others accept suggested (little more a loving cup including liquid from soup mix) and had lots of delicious gravy. Adjacent time I will try using a little corn starch to thicken it.
11/fifteen/2009
Smashing recipe! I used a rib roast and here's how I tweaked information technology: I added a garlic and rosemary rub, a bay leaf, and used beef goop instead of cubes. From my feel with my crockpot, I always apply xanthous mankind potatoes and cut any veggies into LARGE chunks (double or triple the size that I use when boiling or roasting). This keeps the veggies from getting as well mushy later half-dozen hours of cooking. I cooked on depression for 6 hours and everything turned out good, only next time I'll check information technology after 5.5 hours because the roast seemed a tiny fleck over done.
11/xv/2011
Very expert. I placed veggies on top of roast. Added more water than called for, and used flour to plough into a gravy. I likewise placed a bay leafage into crock pot while cooking. Thought mayhap it needed a little more season, but overrall very tasty. I will make this again.
03/xvi/2011
Very easy only standard fair. Adding garlic and ruby-red wine as suggested by other reviewers is definitely recommended. I besides added a few splashes of low sodium soy sauce which enhances the color as well as flavour.
01/29/2011
Super easy, only I found that all of the ingredients wouldn't actually fit in my crock pot. Then, I had to take several big spoonfuls of the potatoes and carrots out to fit in all the meat. I'grand not a huge cerise meat fan, then I don't think I would make this all the time. Only for a pot roast, it was pretty adept.
02/12/2001
If you have the time this receipe is always better if y'all brownish the meat first and add together some more seasoning, like a bay leafage.
02/02/2003
This was an amazing recipe! I accept butchered many-a-roast, but this i was so elementary, and turned out to be the best I take had yet! I besides stabed random holes in the meat before cooking, and filled them with garlic. Thanks for sharing this recipe! My whole family unit thanks y'all! :o)
08/fourteen/2004
I added a parcel of Lipton Onion Soup Mix to the 1/2 cup of water and turned the meat frequently. Information technology added great season. I omitted the celery(hate information technology with roast) and also the boullion (who needs it with the Lipton Onion Soup Mix?). Used red bliss potatoes. Easy. Skilful. Pretty standard fashion to make roast in a crock pot.
09/10/2007
This was definitely easy. I made the following modifications according to what I had on manus: two lbs roast, iii carrots, one celery stick & 4 potatoes. I permit mine cook for four hours, but it was quite dry. This was my commencement roast, and so I was leery of calling it done early; but I think it was done later on 3 1/2 hours.
01/27/2008
Very Like shooting fish in a barrel to make!! It had good flavors but I likewise added garlic, pepper, salt, and a little red wine. I used 2 cups of water and this helped go along the meat tender. This is my first time making it in the crock pot, and so I inverse the cooking times a petty. I just watched information technology and took information technology out at about 6 hours on low and cooking the last hr on high. Information technology was very piece of cake and yummy!
01/04/2009
This recipe is very easy and very adept. I did not use celery - I didn't have any. I added table salt and pepper, and used liquid bouillon concentrate instead of cubes, because that'due south what I had on mitt. I cooked in on high and information technology was done in less than 4 hours. This is the best way to cook a roast.
09/10/2008
Wonderful! Unproblematic! My firm smells astonishing! Just added a chip more water and used about 3.v lbs center of round beefiness and followed exact recipe....YUM....will be making over again and again.
ten/26/2010
This was my 1st pot roast and information technology was fabulous! My married man was completely impressed! I followed the recipe most exactly, only I seared the beefiness (adding salt & pepper) before I put it in the crock pot and I added mushrooms and smashed whole clove garlic. Then piece of cake!
ten/xviii/2010
Very practiced an easy. Nosotros used 2 cans of beef goop instead of the burgoo and water and added many garlic cloves. Also, add more veggies if you like them.
02/01/2003
Very easy!! very good!!!
03/19/2010
gonna brand this tonight..I'll tell ya how it goes
eleven/09/2008
Excellent. I followed directions exactly until I added 15 crushed ginger snaps an 60 minutes before it was done. Information technology thickens the gravy and tastes awesome.
01/31/2005
loved the recipe but instead of water and beefiness boullion i merely added a can of beefiness broth.
01/10/2002
Although this recipe was quick, easy, and kid friendly, it turned out awful! The main reason was that information technology was bland. Everything merely tasted like beefiness goop, with not much other flavor. Yuck!
12/31/2001
I similar this recipe because it'southward simple, however produces a delicious complete repast. That's the best I look from a recipe!
06/29/2010
My swain gave this a five, simply I'm giving information technology a four since I felt like something was lacking, regarding flavor. Too, the pot roast was a little dry, so I feel similar there should take been more water in the recipe.
02/12/2002
This was succulent and easy. The roast but melts in your oral fissure.
12/08/2009
Good Recipe, If you add 3/iv of a can of coca cola it is a great Recipe. Except for the yellow corn. no where does it say open up can and put in shallow pan on low oestrus. I don't become the corn thing. The coca cola play tricks is from grandma Bessie. She fabricated excellent pot Roast.
11/29/2008
The reason I gave this iv stars is b/c I had to add A LOT of seasoning to become it to taste how I wanted. I did fresh rosemary, salt, season salt, pepper and about ane/4 cup lea and perrins. Next time I would also sear it first to lock the juices in. It got a little dry at seven hours.
08/xiii/2008
This was so easy and then adept. I fabricated this on my lunch break and information technology was ready to eat when I got domicile! I used 1 loving cup beef broth instead of the water. I as well rubbed some salt, pepper, garlic common salt, and onion powder into the roast before cooking equally well every bit sprinkling over the potatos.
07/26/2002
It really is easy.
08/05/2007
Really good! I added 5-6 cloves of garlic and I seared the roast and deglazed the pan earlier putting in the deadening cooker. It came out really tender and the vegetable'due south tasted wonderful.
12/17/2006
This was wonderful! I did leave the clery whole, and then I could take the flavor then remove it when serving(my family unit doesn't like cerely) or and so they think. I do that quite oftentimes. They don't mind the taste, just the texture. Anyway, thank you for this recipe.
02/xiii/2010
Very like shooting fish in a barrel to make, I used garlic powder, italian seasoning salt and pepper and it was perfect..also you should use 1 cup of h2o. Fifty-fifty with a 3 pound chuck roast it needed more water than a half cup. Very easy..very skillful. will make once more.,
07/xiii/2003
Definately like shooting fish in a barrel! I made this when we had some friends over for dinner and it turned out swell. I did put as well many potatoes in it and I added extra carrots but information technology was succulent. I should have added more water for the extra veggies and then I could accept fabricated gravy but it was all the same fantastic!
12/27/2001
Succulent and very easy pot roast. Tastes wonderful!
09/23/2002
I love a simple receipe, and this i is simple!
01/24/2011
Splendid and easy. Used additional spices/flavorings and liquid as suggested by other reviewers.
03/20/2014
This is a terrific, easy-to-do recipe for pot roast. I love the simplicity, peculiarly for my college-historic period daughters and parents who are rushing out the door to piece of work in the morning. While I appreciate the many "reviews" of the recipe, in fact most folks are completely rewriting the recipe. One of the "most helpful critical reviews" adds ix additional ingredients! That's not a review, that's another recipe altogether! Submit it equally such, please!
09/30/2008
Turned out great, I seared the roast and added a little minced garlic and more than water. Next time I volition attempt the beefiness broth instead.
09/15/2015
I changed the water to root beer. Gave it a squeamish sweet flavor. Super tender!!
x/11/2010
My beginning time making a pot roast & it was very good! My seven year quondam even liked the meat & he'due south not a big meat eater. I did make a couple adjustments based on reviews....I did a rub of Montreal steak seasoning, seared it 3-5 minutes on each side, & added some minced garlic, common salt & pepper to the veggies. I used a 3 pound arm roast & it only took 5 hours on low. Seems like my crock pot never takes as long as recipes say though....good thing I was watching it! Highly recommend this recipe!
12/22/2009
Overall, it's a very good tasting roast...peculiarly beingness so easy to prepare! I gave it four out of 5 stars because it actually was lacking spices (in addition to the bouillon, I also used garlic pulverisation, bay leaves, whole peppercorns, vegeta, and rubbed on a little fleck of Mrs. Nuance garlic & herbs sprinkle) and too because I think it needs nearly 4 times as much water as stated..Mine came out a little dry out, but I blame myself for not watching it often enough (my first time using my mother's slow-cooker. I approximate hers cooks faster).
06/09/2008
This is the best pot roast I've ever eaten! Here are the changes I made: I omitted the potatoes and used 2 roasts increasing the boullion cubes to 5, increased the water to 1 cup, sprinkled a bit of seasoning salt over both roasts and spread ane one/2 tblsp of A1 steak sauce over the tiptop roast. This is definitely a recipe I will make time and time again!

Certainly an easy recipe. After reading reviews almost cooking time and seasoning I have a few comments. Effort browning the roast first in a hot pan with a little oil. Then season with salt and pepper. Y'all can also add garlic and other herbs you like. I prefer to apply tyme. If you like more salt and seasoning, I add an onion soup mix poured over the roast. The bigger your roast, the more seasoning it needs. Finally on the cooking time, the longer it cooks the more it will pull autonomously and shred. If y'all adopt to piece it, you can remove it when still business firm to touch. We always let ours cook slowly and for a long fourth dimension. Pull it apart and lightly chop. Then back in crock pot with all the veggies and juices. Thanks and good luck!

This truly is the "easiest pot roast ever!" I've done it several times now and it comes out perfectly. I've used 2 cups of h2o though instead of 1/2 loving cup; information technology merely didn't seem like plenty. I also added lots of bay leaves on top of the roast. Information technology was excellent! What a great recipe for someone's first pot roast!

Tastes skillful. Added pepper & garlic to top of meat Need to add more veggies next fourth dimension, nosotros had a lot of meat left over, only non many veggies.

I'll try this once more - outset I got an English language Roast and baked it at 350 for one hour (used a themometer) and allow it stand for ten minutes. Loved the flavor, just not equally tender as I know information technology should be - I'll update you after I try the crockpot and a improve cutting of roast.

Very easy, and tasty recipe! Although, instead of beef bullion cubes, I used a packet of onion soup mix. Turned out very yummy and tender!
